Kon Queso
A 1 track funk single (4m 30s) — released October 8th 2024 on College Of Knowledge Records
The Pro-Teens cover of MF DOOM's Kon Queso, taken from the late masked rapper's iconic 2004 album MM..FOOD. A forceful groove with hard-panned dual rhythmic guitar dancing rigidly with one another atop distorted bass guitar and heavy boom-bap drums, with angular electric organ cutting through.
The Pro-Teens are an incognito collective of musicians from Melbourne, Australia's cinematic soul movement, including members from Surprise Chef, who have over 45 million Spotify streams, and Karate Boogaloo, whose 2024 Colemine album Hold Your Horses has sold 3,000 vinyl copies to date. Two limited vinyl 7"s featuring songs from the forthcoming 'MF TEEN: Your Concurrence In The Above Is Assumed' album sold 1500 copies.
The Pro-Teens previous full-length album 'I Flip My Life Every Time I Fly' was BBC6 Music's Album Of The Day, and was picked up for re-release by UK tastemaker label Mr Bongo after its local release in Australia. They have received consistent radio support from Gilles Peterson.
